West Texas Tours: Leaving Lubbock

“Lubbock has this way of, while you’re there, making you feel like it’s the most normal place in the world; not until you go away and start comparing your experience there to the outside world do you realize that Lubbock is really one of the strangest places anywhere.” — Joe Ely

There is something about this town that makes the people who are similar to one another get very close. There are very few places that I’ve been where you can walk into a place and not only know everyone there but be genuinely happy to see 99% of them. It’s a weird thing that leads to boredom on some nights but appreciation for finding those that not only understand you but love you despite your tendencies to bust out in random dance moves on a regular basis. I’m happy to say I will genuinely miss you Lubbock.
